Surgery was a couple of weeks ago and all is well. I did have an issue where my chest filled with fluid and it had to be drained. Not fun but I got through it. I have to go again next week for another draining, radiation setup, and a treatment.
The surgery wasn't as difficult to get through as I thought it would. Not that I would ever want to go through what I did. It is what it is I guess. After the six weeks of radiation and a three week recovery I can proceed with the 'other side' surgery. By mid-June or first of July I should be back at work full-time. I'm working now but just not full-time. It's good to have somewhat of a normal life back. The managers I work with have been so wonderful to me. They try to keep me busy even though they don't have time to try and find work for me each week.
I'm feeling better over all. I am still tired a lot. My hair is growing, eyebrows are back, and eyelashes are halfway in length. My hair is still too thin to go without a wig or scarf. I'm thinking by end of May I'll be done with both of them. It feels like a long time to wait but with rad treatments starting in two weeks it should go by fast enough. June will really mark the start of the healing process. The last major surgery will be in December or next year (the make things look better surgery). I'm not counting the every 3 week treatment or any checkups.
Anyway, I’m getting close just not there yet. Three major hurdles down and three left to go!
Luv,
JK
