Update after first treatment

Sorry for the late posting. I know many were wondering how chemo day went. It was okay, I guess. I don’t know who has been exposed to chemo via family, friends, or self but in my mind, chemo therapy sucks big time!

It was upsetting to go down and see people sitting back in chairs, all wrapped in blankets, with their hair out or almost out. I just can’t believe I’m there right with them. Anyway, the treatment took 3 hours overall. I felt like I couldn’t get comfortable in my own skin. My stomach was pretty messed up which I expected with already having stomach problems. I was feeling better on Tuesday and Wednesday, but Thursday came and kicked my butt. I ended up really sick all day. Today (Friday) was a good day, felt better overall. If I feel this way from now until next dooms day (Thursday) I’ll be doing okay.

I also received a nice surprise today at work. The team I work with gave me a big gift basket and a gift certificate. The basket was huge and so was the gift card =). What a great bunch of people I know!! And if Pete Tannish was still with NCC I know he would have contributed to it =)

Anyway, the second treatment is scheduled for 8:00am on Thursday (9/14). So, I’ll only have 2 bad treatments left to go through. Hopefully the one-a-week treatments that follow will be easier, but still as affective.

I wanted to say thanks again to all of you for caring so much about me! I love all of you too and I plan to continue to fight this and with all your prayers, I’m sure I’ll be okay.
