I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. We did. We had my family over and my husband's children. We also had a birthday party for my step son (21) and son (18) a week later. We had so much fun, it was very good times.
Well as you know I've been going back and forth with the idea that the cancer had spread to the bone. Well the jury is almost in and it appears that I was right. The doctor moved my scans up to the day after Thanksgiving. The doctor called me the following Monday and told me I would have to have an MRI. We discussed the results today. She is scheduling a bone biopsy in order to confirm if the cancer is active or inactive. I've been in a lot of pain in my back and legs so I don't expect that it's inactive.
The treatment would be hormone based, herceptin, and possibly radiation. I know that bone biopsies are painful but I have no choice but to have it done. I’m doing okay. I’ve been struggling with this for a long time so now the doctor is on the same page as me. She did go back and review my 2006 scans and stated that it is a fair assumption that I was stage 4 back when I was diagnosed.
I’m doing okay. I’m not upset at all. I knew she was going to tell me what she did. I’m actually feeling relieved that everyone finally knows what I’ve known for so long. Now I can receive treatment and hopefully will be able to live with it for several years.
